This Girlfriends series has gone off the rails, using the "reading someone else's diary" gimmick as a lame excuse for presenting the label's promised four (mechanical sex) vignettes. One might as well as skip the intros and treat it as an All-Sex exercise.
Emphasis is on young talent, furthering the trend to generic content, as Girlfriends' strongest suit of Older/Younger action is avoided.
Particularly annoying is the DVD's first half, which uses the corniest of premises, a group stranded due to car trouble and going to a nearby house in search of a phone for help. The prevalence of cell phones negating this gimmick is not even addressed.
They find a diary there but no people, and the prospects of a ghost story or thriller are dangled but not fulfilled, in a rush to get on to the 2 sex scenes.
Second half concerning four college girls reuniting is ho-hum, as infidelity and infighting among lesbians is poorly scripted and clearly irrelevant to the lenghty hump scenes that follow. Cast is forgettable, unless you're a fan of Alex Coal and Cadence Lux and can't get enough of them.
