Vet pornographer Roy Karch handed in a meek porn video to Jill Kelly's production label with "Over the Top!", an uneventful exercise in humping. Talent does a good job but gets no writing or directing support from the auteur.
Ava Vincent and her friends at work and roommate have crushes and hump various guys with little in the vein of interesting contrivances. Lazy approach is encapsulated in a bar scene where everybody, including the bartender, has sex just because they've met there. Even though we have characters here and some dialog amongst them, the net result is painfully close to today's gonzo, wall-to-wall sex with brief intros videos.
Some beauties I admire make the scene, notably Annie Body early in her career, fun to watch playing a real person rather than just putting out for Max Hardcore or some random Black dude, and the lovely Tommi Rose, credited as Tommy to confuse the fans. Stars Ava Vincent and Mia Smiles walk through in truly nothing roles way below their usual casting.
Superlative of the title is probably a Freudian slip, as the proper truth in advertising moniker would be closer to "Mediocrity on Display".
