When you see it, you really have to wonder yourself: why did this become a movie? It's just a bunch of jokes (some very old) and strips with no logical relation, nor to each other neither to the story-line.
It's true, you get to laugh and it carries a message. But it's not worthy to be on a movie theater because of that. Honestly, I think this was better of a screenplay for a TV-series.
Dominican directors/producers persist in doing this "comedy movies" because they say "is the easiest way to develop the movie-industry in Dominican Republic" and "is easier to connect whit the audience". But they need get into account that, this same audience DOES see the other kind of movies.
So it's not a new field of exploration. You can try hard on doing a good-quality/writing, real-actors movie, and PEOPLE WILL SEE IT.
For instance we have very good examples, I think "The King of Najayo" is a marvelous big step-forward in the Dominican movie industry. It has a well define story line, the acting was almost flawless, and do not fall into mixing it with those every-day jokes.
