Remembering

As a stand alone short movie it is quite a painful viewing. The writing is toned down to a level that children 4-5 years would appreciate, and the entire movie's synopsis can be summed up in one sentence: Older you meets younger you and reminds to dream. Even for a G-rated children's short, I feel like most children would be underwhelmed at the oversimplified and terse message. The highlight of the film is a CGI adventure into a child's make-believe world that lasts all of 30 seconds. The set design of the fairytale cabin in the woods is also well done.

It is certainly a weird project for Brie Larsen to be a part of, and feels like nothing more than a charitable acceptance to star in this short film written and directed by her boyfriend, Elijah Allan-Blitz.

I was deeply moved by the film "Remembering", which tells the story of Sarah, an elderly woman reflecting on her past and confronting the challenging events that have shaped her life. The performances of the entire cast are exceptional, particularly the lead actress who portrays Sarah with a perfect balance of heartwarming and heartbreaking emotions. The cinematography is also very good, with nice shots that capture the music was also very captivating and complements the video editors and all the cast that took their time to give this best.

I supposed they thought this little bit of fluff it would be cute and sentimental, but it wasn't. The little girl seemed to have problems saying her or 'remembering' her lines. I can only guess this must be an exec's family member. Brie L confirmed what I had thought before, that she is a mediocre actress not bad, but not great. This had potential, but missed the mark just like so many other recent Disney productions. I wonder what is going on in the creative and casting departments at the studio. They are churning out a lot of rubbish with tired scenarios. I imagine that the first 10/10 rating was written by a member of the cast or family member. Again, this had loads of potential, the graphics and art were good, but lacked in acting execution and story line.
