Take Care of Yourself

This lousy Devil's Film DVD consists of 3 Pure Taboo vignettes and one Mommy's Boy scene, series on-line made by Gamma Entertainment for the Adult Time platform. Each one is below-par.

Oddest element is that each of the Pure Taboo scenarios has a character named "Amy" in the lead role, an utterly pointless coincidence.

The odd man out vignette is "Whoops! You're Not My Stepmom!". I was surprised to see James Avalon credited as director on such a mediocre "Mommy's Boy" vignette. There's no sign at all of his skill on the finished product.

The script boils down to little more than the title. In a brief set-up, college kid (overage Lucas Frost, 31 years old when this was shot) stepson arrives home and sees what he thinks is his stepmom sunbathing: he feels her up, only to find that it's Vanessa Sky, mom's friend, there instead. He utters the title line, stepmom Queenie Sateen shows up and bemused Vanessa says she's surprised at the taboo relationship they evidently have and would like to join in. Cue a lengthy threesome.

Nothing else happens in this throwaway scene, not very sexy or stimulating unless you've never seen a porno 3-way before.

The other three scenes were directed by Siouxsie Q and Michael Vegas -for me the Eric Idle catchphrase "say no more" applies.

Kenzie Anne shares writing credit with Pure Taboo creator Bree Mills on "What Others Want: A Kenzie Anne Story", a downbeat, rather self-servicing segment, supposedly taking us behind the scenes of the modern life of a sex worker. Obviously a subject highly relevant to Kenzie and Bree, it comes across as phony baloney.

Beauiful blonde Kenzie plays a successful cam-girl (hardly an acting stretch for the porn star) who is flattered when a fan she fancies invites her over. He's Isiah Maxwell, cast as a cad, who only wants her to contact a fellow blonde camgirl (Kenna James) and invite her over for a threesome. Plenty of very fake passion (including a mini-Squirt from Kenzie) results as the three of them have sex on a couch, but we see in her facial reactions that Kenzie feels exploited. Not exactly a hard-hitting drama from Pure Taboo, more like a XXX soap opera.

Is this a cautionary tale for sex workers made by sex workers? Perhaps, but after watching it, I yawned rather than was emotionally moved. Methinks that, as usual, Bree the pornographer protests too much.

Title segment has a simple story: Jazmin Luv is a young single mom, who's excited about reporting to her new job hired as a careworker, and hoping it allows her to be financially able to take back her young son, who is being cared for, but she's promised to bring home soon. Instead of finding an elderly man who needs hospice care from her, she finds out her employer, busty Spencer Scott has bamboozled her: she's supposed to have sex with Scott's lover Seth Gamble and her -a form of prostitution.

Unfortunately for the viewer, the trio of actors (whose acting here is so lousy they should be classified as sex workers instead) improvise their dialogue, and Spencer in particular keeps contradicting herself, seeming to forget what she's just said at one point, and then knowing things she shouldn't later on. Punch line is that during her orientation chat with Jazmin, Seth pulls out his cock and starts masturbating. Jazmin gets the picture and hastily heads for the door, now that she sees where this "caretaking" job is headed, but she gets a text telling her the real caretaker of her son can't continue and she'll have to take her kid back immediately.

Believe it or bite, Jasmin turns on a dime and turns into a skilled prostitute (deep throat skill included) and sexually satisfies the couple on their living room couch to keep her new job and the scene ends with Spencer announcing "Round Two", which fortunately we don't have to sit through. Any suspense here is nonexistent, as Seth hams it up, looking utterly sinister at first sight.

Whether this is intended to be dramatic or just black humor, the scene fails miserably, just boring gonzo sex on the half shell. Directing team of Siouxsie Q and Michael Vegas share the blame.

A mean-spirited (as usual) Pure Taboo segment, "You Jealous, Cuz?" is one of the dumbest scripts of the series so far (ultra-hack Midnight gets the writing credit).

Title suggested immediately to me the weirdo WPT poker player who refers rhetorically to everyone repeatedly at the table as Cuz, and thus has that as his nickname. It's sort of a strategy to dominate the action as Texas Hold'em gamblers on TV vie for psychological dominance.

The story is a timid example of faux incest, but is crummy all the way. Two young girls chat on the couch: Amy (Skyler Storm) and Charlotte (Haley Spades). Amy's older step-cousin (Nathan Bronson) comes by and is invited to hang out with them. He proposes they play cards (this is after I've already been thinking about poker -coincidence?) and beats them at Crazy Eights.

Not a very scintillating "story" so far, but he starts flirting with Charlotte, and when it gets physical, Amy blows up, acting grossed out. Logan humiliates her (the title invoked), and then has sex with Amy on the couch while Amy watches -the usual porno cuckold gimmick (female division). After a while of XXX action, she joins in for a threesome. Predictably, after his cum shot and satisfied moans and groans from the petite girls, Logan humiliates his step-cousin again.

This type of anti-entertainment is the raison d'etre of Pure Taboo, delivering explicit sex with a dumb touch of nastiness like clockwork.
