Hot Nights of Jess (2013)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Another very good featurette from David Gregory. This one here can be found on the HOT NIGHTS OF LINDA release from Severin and features an interview with Jess Franco. Franco talks about how he wrote this film with Lina Romay in mind as he wanted this to be a good and serious role for her. Franco talks about how young she was at the time and also talks about the other two stars in the film. This includes stories of Alice Arno and her lack of confidence. Paul Muller is also discussed by the director as he explains why he used him so many times over his career. He even gives a good nod to BARBED WIRE DOLLS, one of the director's most wicked films. If you're a fan of Franco then obviously you're going to enjoy hearing all of his stories, which range from the low-budget to Hitchcock and of course the various versions of the film. Franco is constantly talking and holding that cigarette as he always does in these interviews. At just under 17-minutes there's a lot of stuff discussed here and even Romay makes a brief cameo when Franco forgets one of the names of an actress.
