You Are Not Alone basically a usual slasher film with different picture-taking, by a POV side of a girl. Starts with a rather boring session, it's actually the way they try to provide some pictures about how far this film would experiment things. Riding car or bicycle, watch a fireworks, and else. Not much a thing I could say, since most of them really making me awkward with music and some not on point editing. It is not really necessary to watch the first part, so you can stay NOT SKIPPING things after the girl arrives at home.
With eerie but low music, it builds up the tenses and really makes me gripping, even pause some of the scenes. This film could just be greater if they cut the duration into 30 min or shorter to emphasize the suspense better, but I'm glad they choosing a more usual and conventional way to tell story of slasher. The girl kind of dumb at a point, the killer is awesomely tagged her so you keep watching or you will lose many good jump scares.
What I like about this movie is, the movie is just experimenting the ideas of POV with a story that not really pointed out. It is merely same like any usual slasher with a crazy figure follows at night, killing and else, but it is actually helping us to not really overthink the story. You could just enjoy how this film building the tenses with their POV and getting the thrill ride.
The 6 is given because of lacks in technical things. I mean, there's actually no shadow of girl around the movie, and reflection of herself, or something would increase an experience in POV horror film. I could imagine if the movie would come up with VR version or customized-plot like video games, so the horror can finally you can visibly enjoy
