Unfunny, stilted, unbelievable, and perplexing. I was very disappointed; a wasted two hours. Hopefully they won't make another one.
Nothing about this movie portrayed Superman. The main character was incessantly weak and ineffectual. The dog was an aborted attempt of a joke. Luthor was one-dimensional. The 'Justice Gang' were straight out of a b-movie.
The plot was nonsensical. The 'new' universe lacked explanation and, like many DC movies, was too far removed from reality to provoke any viewer investment. The CGI was over-the-top; to the extent of being detrimental.
I spent the entirety of the film with an eyebrow raised. Incredulous, intelligence insulted, bewildered, annoyed at the trash on the screen.
I really can't think of any positives, except that it makes one sentimental for an era when movies were so much better.

Firstly, if you're looking for a sci-fi movie, this isn't one. I'm bewildered why it would be marketed as such. If anything, it's a wilderness survival movie, where every calamity that occurs is a result of the character making immensely dumb decisions. It's a movie that deals with guilt and mourning; but for no coherent reason and in a completely over-the-top manner.
Without giving spoilers, the movie is essentially just a string of glaring plot holes linked together with over-acting, ludicrously 'tense' music, and ridiculously inappropriate sentimentality. It's completely incoherent, and that does nothing to engage the viewer.
This is a huge miss. Don't waste 105 minutes on it.

I really struggle to understand how this level of garbage TV makes it onto the screen. Abysmal writing, annoying characters, cookie-cutter plot, and the pervading sense that the audience are pressumed to be complete and utter idiots.
The opening scene of episode one is a perfect example. It was ridiculous; a pistol in each hand, baddies who mindlessly throw the protagonist around, a target who sits around complacently while their bodyguards panic like children. 'Girl boss' shows need expert combat sequence choreography or they fall flat on creating any suspension of disbelief. This falls eye-rollingly flat from the very outset.
It doesn't get better. Silly dialogue. Implausible scenarios. Plastic character development. Unrelatable relationships.
No. No. No. Giving this 1 out of 10 was generous.
