Another Netflix "historical" series.
Yes, like all Netflix "historical" series, this one is almost entirely fantasy.
The vocabulary is almost entirely modern, and the characters behave as if they are from the 21st century.
The soundtrack is mostly terrible, modern music that doesn't even belong in this pretentious fantasy.
Since this is a Netflix production, it is mandatory to distort history to focus the story on a certain narrative and insert some things that have already become so irritating that they have a counter-effect.
The costumes are good, as is the set design, and Jack Gleeson stands out with his acting. The rest is so typically Netflix.
Jack Gleeson, I must admit, is perhaps the best actor here, he is convincing and funny, it's a shame that the series is pretentious and looks more like a parody than a "historical" series.
Too bad, this could have been much better.

This is clearly an unintentional parody.
As for distorting history, we're used to it from Hollywood, but this is a new level.
The series states that Christianity came to England in 1066, which is an absolute lie, Christianity came to England in the 1st century, and became widely accepted in the 7th century. There have been Christians since the 1st century.
The dialogue itself shows hatred for Christians, which we're used to from Hollywood writers, producers and directors, and even some actors. You've created a complete counter-effect with such things. Even I notice it.
I don't understand why they lie when it's easy to find out the truth these days, but I guess Hollywood hates Christians so much that they can't help themselves.
I gave up after about twenty minutes of the first episode, I don't know what audience these shows are for, there's no point in even subscribing to these services. They're definitely not going to get my money back.
Why subscribe to a service that openly hates you. It's hilarious how this was actually expected, I'd actually be surprised if it was any different, considering the current state of Hollywood.
Too bad, this could have been interesting, but instead we got another piece of trash. A complete waste of time.

Well, this had potential, but like most movies and shows these days, that's where it ended.
The series started out fun, with an interesting premise, the characters were interesting and a bit bizarre.
In the first season, the music was fun, it added to the atmosphere. The soundtrack was really great, and the moment when Peacemaker plays Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue on the piano was a great detail.
The first season had its flaws, and yes, there were some "lessons" that ruined the fun, but the rest was extremely entertaining and somehow managed to cancel out all the bad.
The second season is a collection of everything that is bad in Hollywood movies and TV shows today.
Yes, the second season turned into a boring sermon in which any possibility of entertainment was reduced to zero. Even the music, which was a strong point in the first season, became much worse.
In every episode, we had to remind ourselves how stupid we the viewers are and how Hollywood writers and directors need to "educate" us. It just creates a further counter-effect. I don't understand how the producers, writers and directors don't get it.
Peacemaker turned into a boring, whiny guy, and the "twist" was visible a mile away.
Too bad, the concept was interesting, as were the characters and the potential was huge. Too bad it all ended there.
