Zizi Jeanmaire(1924-2020)

Has had a long, enduring professional and private relationship with dancer/choreographer Roland Petit who created Les Ballet des Champs Elysees, and who choreographed all of her Hollywood musicals. They first met each other when both were 9 years old and students at the Paris Opera Ballet school.

As you get older you become more understanding. When I was young it was all about me. I was very egocentric. Now it is a pleasure to work with young people who have talent. It is a continuity for me. It is a way to go on...and, I think, a way to grow old.
