Joseph Manuella, who has doubled for Robert De Niro in two movies, The
Fan and Great Expectations, was arrested in upstate New York on 15
November 2001 on charges of impersonating him off the set as well.
According to today's (Thursday) New York Post, Manuella had acquired a
credit card under De Niro's name, passed around photos of the actor,
and signed autographs. His impersonation reportedly came to an end when
De Niro learned that Manuella was apparently trying to sell a film
project.
