Josef Meinrad(1913-1996)

As well as starring in a mini-series of Cervantes' "Don Quixote", and playing Don Quixote in a 1964 edit of that mini-series called "Dulcinea del Toboso", he acted and sang the roles of Cervantes and Don Quixote in the first Austrian stage production of "Man of La Mancha". Playwright Dale Wasserman, who wrote the script of the musical, considers Meinrad the finest Quixote and Cervantes he has ever seen in a production of the show.
