In 2010, while on a sit-down in Seattle with the first national tour of "South Pacific" Peter apprehended a hit and run driver fleeing the scene of a crime. He was awarded a Certificate of Distinction and the Police Chief's coin award from the Seattle Police Department. He also was interviewed on the local 6:00 news where he told the interviewer, "I'm not a cop but I play one on TV", referring to his early career cameos on Law and Order. The driver, it turns out, was a felon who was being tailed by the Seattle Police Dept. for 4 hours that morning, after he had stolen the car he was driving.
