Robert Anderson was involved with the sport of dog-sledding for 10 years between the ages of 8-18 years of age. He belonged to a organization known as Mid Union Sled Haulers (MUSH) and his family founded the long distance dog-sledding organization known as Michigan Dog Drivers (MIDD). His family also founded the ARC, Alaskan Rescue Coalition, to aid in the recovery and rescue of Alaskan dog breeds throughout the state of Michigan.
