Teo's father is Australian (of Czech Ashkenazi Jewish descent) and his mother is French (of Moroccan Sephardi Jewish descent). His grandfather Albert Halm wrote the book, My Handwriting Saved Me (2017), about his experiences as a Holocaust survivor. He was originally from the Carpathian Mountains.
