Retail

There are very few shows that actually make me laugh out loud, and I'm not talking about the meaningless "LOL" that so many people put on texts and social media updates. I'm talking about laughing so hard and loud that people in the other room come in to see what's going on.

Retail is one of those shows. While the episodes are super short, usually only a minute and a half, I find myself laughing several times during that short time span. The series centers around a group of retail employees working at an eyeglass store. As a former retail employee (bookstore) I recognized every character type portrayed in the series.

But the one character I identified with most was that of DeJuan (played by Kevin L. Walker) while the others border on caricature it is DeJuan that seems a bit above it all, seems more real. This could be the writing or it could be that Walker brings an ability to the screen that the others do not possess. I am inclined to think it is a little of both.

Each episode does one other important thing besides make me laugh; they make me want to watch more. This is one of the best web series I have seen in a long time and is highly recommended.
