This was a fun movie about two attractive strangers on a holiday drive from SF to Seattle. Some of it was in the snow (thus the title). Ory is a fresh face for me on my HM journey so far. She has a cute smile, and is very disarming an actress. She has a very alluring way about her. I did not warm up to her very quickly, though. Walker is good as usual, the perfect choice to be a military type. I wonder how many HM movies he plays a military character in.
It was an enjoyable ride and the romance slowly blossomed, then was stopped dead in its tracks for a long while until the end. That was a fine, it was enjoyable watching her break his shell bit by bit with her simple charm.
The FBI aspect was cheesy, but since it's in the novel I suppose they couldn't change the script too much.
It's a light romance, not to be taken very seriously. She is a woman who believes in all that's good, kind, and sweet; naive is a more accurate description. I've seen sweet and she is it in spades. He is the exact opposite, strong, silent, cynical, suspicious, seemingly uncaring, scrooge-like.
For the women viewers, I imagine he is a dream. He is chiseled and built, so even I can attest. She is also a catch and so this movie was entertaining enough for me to go all in. I wanted to delete it off the DVR around 30 minutes, but that would be the umpteenth time I was proven wrong that you can gauge a movie in 30 minutes. Nope, it doesn't work that way with HM, whose movies are like a fine wine; they must age much longer, sometimes all the way to the final credits before you cast your vote. You'll be glad you waited.
