Björk gets taken away from her messed-up family and held by a religious cult in a makeshift prison. While in the prison she is sexually abused and undergoes a mental breakdown.
This is an Arthouse oddity. The film would have come out when Björk was still in Sugarcubes, around five years before she had mega-success with solo album, "Debut". This was made for Icelandic TV and is (loosely) based on a real-life case that happened in the late-60s.
This film arguably isn't as sleazy as many WIP (Women In Prison) films and there might be social commentary on organised religion I am missing. Apart from Björk who is a fine actress and the main cause of interest towards this obscure, but arguably cult film, it's actually quite dull.
From a technical viewpoint: It looks like it is made in a studio with a low budget. The sets are sparse and there's not much going on. The film has a very blue look to it and as you would expect given the subject isn't a colourful film. The acting, editing and camerawork is all good, but not overly impressive. It's all just a bit middle of the road. Other than to Björk fans or viewers who want to see a genuine rare film I can't recommend it.
