Okay the hair was my only problem with Hoges. Lawson's acting wasn't. It was a tremendous feat. It's almost an enigma how he, and other actors have copped it. The story loosely covers how this Sydney Bridge rigger, became an overnight success and was responsible for the highest grossing Oz movie of all time. Corr, an actor that just gets better, I really liked as Hoges sidekick, and best buddy, John Cornell, where the actress who plays Delvene Delaney here, is hotter than DD herself. She too does it solid. I had problems with Laura Gordan, not her performance, but her look for the role, even the re enacting, New York knife scene from CD shows her with real short hair. I loved uncredited, Grant Piro's Dustin Hoffman, portrayal, despite other opinion. But I really liked Justine Clarke the best, as Hoges's long suffering wife. She totally got under her skin, and it's a brave piece of tour de force, and the best stiff, I've seen from her. She's the best and real acting force/drive in this, Lawson running close second. This is frickin' Roo from Home And Away, the little lass from Professor Poopsnaggle. Look how far she's come? Yes, there were other bigger problems here too. I for one, thought this would of been much better covered, over a few more weeks. Just imagine how much more could of been poured in here. E.g. We could of spent much more time focusing on the battles of writing and getting that great blockbuster, up on the big screen, even more BTS filming of CD. Also much more focus on Croc 2, where Paul's son co wrote it with him, and the conflict that would of developed, between the two, during the writing of that. And when we were spun through the nineties. What about the Croc 3 failing, and more importantly, Hoges's problems with those bloody tax people, but "No" none of that. This was really messy time coverage, fast forwarding us, as though we've been put through a washing machine. And what about Lightning Jack? But "No". Even the start was rushed with the younger actors, who were wonderfully cute, and delivered in their short and unfair screen time, that makes you wanna throw a mower through the screen. This story should of been told over ten week hourly episodes + it's two first night premiere. This is why this really suffered, although what's transpired instead is good enough to get to know that lovable larrikin, by being like he is, purely entertaining, so it still comes out winning, or for Hoges, with the tax department, grinning. May'be they'll be another series that will sheerly focus on how Crocodile Dundee, made millions and then some.
