Writer/director J Lee is also an actor and plays Lt. Commander John LaMarr on The Orville. He was filming this movie while also shooting The Orville and had a very tight schedule to make both projects work. On one of his Career Suicide shoot days, he misread his Orville schedule and instead of having the day off to film his movie, he was called in to work. But all of his crew and actors were already on set and his location was only available that day. Thinking quickly, he decided to direct the scene remotely on FT while in his trailer.
