Director Tim Pope had a rough time shooting this video since he's allergic to cats yet the song needed to have a video with cats, of which Cure lead singer Robert Smith is very fond of. Pope got his "revenge" on Smith on the video for The Cure: Lullaby (1989) that had the motif of spiders and Smith is afraid of spiders.
