America's Family

This movie is about something that thousands upon thousands of families have to deal with in this country. It's about families coming to the Unite States to create a better life. In this case, the parents are here from Mexico, and getting by. They're chasing the American Dream and contributing to society. They're good people, like most emigrants. Unfortunately, due to not filing out the proper paperwork, the mother is taken into custody, and the son is deported back to Mexico. It show just how brutal and unsympathetic the system is here. One of the son's ends up leaving his job at a law firm to work on his family's case full time.

It's a heartfelt drama with a fine cast and good writing. Without giving away too much of the story, let's just say it has a positive ending. If you're one of those anti-immigrant, right wingers who think they all should be deported, you might want to check out this film. It just may change your mind.
