- AnecdotesMGM siphoned money intended for Les sept femmes de Barberousse (1954) on the assumption that "Brigadoon" would be the big hit of the year. However, Brigadoon did not even break even in the United States, while "Seven Brides" was a big box office hit.
- GaffesIn response to the first Anachronism re: date of 1754. In the original play, it was 1747, as the play opened on Broadway March 13, 1947. The law prohibiting the tartans, kilts, bagpipes and arms went into effect in late 1746/early 1747. Tartan trews and kilts would have still been worn. As an aside, Roman Catholicism was practiced by many clans, and Protestantism was practiced by other clans. Catholic & Scottish Episcopalian clans tended to be supporters of the Jacobites (losers of the battle/war) and Protestants were supporters of the Hanoverians. The Campbells (the family name in the play) were supporters of the Hanoverians, delaying their proscription of wearing Highland clothing.

Mr. Lundie: Two hundred years ago, the highlands of Scotland were plagued with witches, wicked sorcerers that were taking the Scottish people away from the teachings of God and putting the Devil into their souls. They were indeed horrible destructive women. I dinna suppose you have such women in your country?
Tommy Albright: Witches?
Jeff Douglas: Oh we have 'em. We pronounce it differently.
