- AnecdotesThe original opening for the show in its first two years on the air was, "From New York City, The Entertainment Capital of the World." Later, in 1964, the show moved production from New York City to Miami Beach, Florida, where the open became, "From Miami Beach, Florida, the Sun and Fun Capital of the World", so the "The Great One" could play golf all year round. These variety shows were video taped at the Miami Beach Auditorium, now known as the Jackie Gleason Theatre of the Performing Arts.
