A film of the realistic genre as we are accustomed to Leonardo Favio, this time showing us the story of a romance between Aniceto (Federico Luppi) and La Francisca (Elsa Daniel) that little by little is deformed in such a way, that in the end the character of Aniceto falls into madness, despairing, and doing everything possible to get back with her, without any success, and having an ending too hopeless, sad, and leaving us the conclusion that not all loves end with a happy ending, a formula that was replicated until today, but in a not so remembered or effective way.
Likewise, with the obvious context of the national cinema of the time, it presents several sound errors, or even image errors, since it was not remastered as such, having a rather dark image in certain parts, or even with frames with many scratches.
Besides the story is not very understandable in certain parts, due to the sound errors as I said before, being something very common for the cinema of those years.
And although it has a somewhat weak beginning (considering Favio's film repertoire), it develops in a somewhat intuitive way in spite of everything, and that surprises me due to Luppi's performance, who was only 30 years old when the film was shot.
And finally; although it presents some narrative errors, it is considered one of the best films in the history of Argentine cinema, something that I also confirm, as well as with several films of the same director, and of the realistic genre in general.
