Anecdotes
Loosely based on Volpone (1616), a comedy play by Ben Johnson. The same play was adapted also in other two movies: Volpone (1941) and Masquerade (1967). While the original play is set in 17th century Venice, this movie is set in late 1980s Italian Riviera (mainly in Santa Margherita Ligure).
