I really liked this trilogy when I was young. Vivian Chow was still in her early 20's when this film was made. D&B studio was one of the up coming movie studio that raised the bar for high quality movie making in late '80s to early '90s Hong Kong cinema. It made movies with very modern visual looks to it, and I always looked forward to its latest releases back then. In this movie Stephen Shin, who made many great love comedies for D&B directs the continuation story between Alex (George Lam) and Ngo (Do Do Chen).
Ngo, and Vivian (Vivian Chow) has now moved into a new flat with Alex. Alex is still the busy producer he was from the first movie. They are not married yet, but they found new stability in their life living together. Alex gets an assignment to shoot movie in Paris. There he needs to work with Joe (Maggie Chen). Ngo's jealousy explodes, and she splits from the hotel. Alex is again, poor nice guy who's on the receiving end of trouble. Will the two make it through this turbulent time ?
The clean looks of the movie, at times very funny Stephen Shin's depiction of people, and excellent performance of Chen. Lam, and Chow makes this one of the best love romance comedy from early '90s Hong Kong. Such innocence, and positive outlook towards society is no longer seen in Hong Kong movies, and now its a rare to see this type of love romance movie from anywhere. A pure gem if you like this kind of light hearted romantic movie. I wish Dickson Phoon will come back to movie making and produce this kind of movies again.
One other thing to mention is Do Do Chen, Vivian Chow, and George Lam looked great throughout this trilogy. It really was a treat to see these three work together.
