Tie shan gong zhu

I didn't find this, the second of the Shaw Monkey series, to be one of the better instalments. It moves along quite slowly and the plot tends towards repetition which spoils the effect somewhat. There are plenty of good points, from the trickster usage to the false appearances and the doubling, but it does tend to start feeling drawn out around the halfway mark. A shame as this has a particularly strong cast, with everyone from Lilys Ho and Li, Cheng Pei-Pei, Ku Feng and Yueh Hua appearing.
