Commentaire à la une
Suffering from a terrible print used by SWV to preserve this white-coater, it is nonetheless a subpar hardcore porn offering from the pseudo-documentary era. I'm sure the other vid companies (Blue Underground, Salvation, etc.) aren't wasting time trying to restore this baby to pristene original quality.
Fake Dr. Ann Foster (who IMDb lists as a real writer because the pseudonym hasn't been traced down), played by Lindis Guinness, hosts and boringly narrates this junker, trying to help a couple of married women with their sexual problems. However, that format is dropped soon in favor of a bizarre and pointless stress on a revolving lucite platform where various demo couples fornicate in (check the title) a mind-numbing variety of positions, lit from below, while psychedelic lighting and visual distortion tries to keep it interesting. This reminded me of those classic sex/exercise videos from the '90s by Ron Harris, only hardcore.
Occasionally there are insert shots of lovely exterior scenes, with a nuclear family out in the forest, again to break up the tedium of the pretend-docu "educational" format. Most annoying is the Elizabeth Barrett Browning poetry voiced over by Peter Forster -completely out of place. All these distractions fail to hide the clinical approach.
Fans circa 1971 were paying for hardcore sex on screen, and they get short shrift here. There are innumerable shots of penetration, but the lighting and visual gimmickry conspire to mask it for most of the running time, so the film plays overall as softcore sex "plus". The fact that familiar and attractive porn actresses like Annette Michael and Debra Christian are on hand helps kill the time. At 46 minutes (probably a couple of reels worth is missing), less is not exactly more, but certainly enough.
