Proud American

Proud American was released without advertising due to fraud by a lender, which was prosecuted federally. Thus the poor box office showing.

The audiences who did see it were generally quite positive. NYT, LAT, WPO all did not like the movies, many other reviewers and newspapers did, including Rotten Tomatoes.

Fast forward 2022, at a showing tonight (2022) in a theater the audience was very positive expressing strong positive in person comments. After the release in. 2008 all the major chains wanted to have it back after a few years but the money wasn't there. They called the producer and said, we know you got screwed. Wait a few years, bring it back, we'll give you all the screens you can support.

It is not a film for everyone, what film is? I always appreciate different perspectives.
