Ingénue

Quasarman's "Ingenue" for Wicked Pictures is a promising rom-com feature, done in by the seemingly inevitable overacting and ineptitude of star Tommy Pistol.

Pistol is a favorite of porn directors, in particular writer-director Mike Quasar, I know not why. Perhaps it's a death wish by underachievers, afraid their work in a disrespected genre (Adult) might be taken seriously.

Pistol is cast as a Walter Mitty type, mistreated and disrespected by both his wife (Reagan Foxx) and daughter (Karlee Grey), but taking it all like a human doormat. Even his co-workers and boss give him a hard time and get away with it.

Enter the title character played by Janice Griffith, an usual role in that she is shy but oddly outgoing when it comes to giving Tommy advice. When he's not having Mitty-like (but XXX) erotic day dreams about sexy babes like his boss Mercedes Carrera, Griffith (who is staying with Reagan's family due to problems back home) gives him pep talks, leading to the inevitable hot Pistol/Griffith sex scene and his worm turning in a most unsatisfying (and stupid) ending.

Pistol's textbook-poor performance is bad at both extremes, walking through most of the picture in what he must consider his subtle mode, and then pulling faces (recall: he played Pee-Wee Herman in the crappy Vivid Video porn parody) and chewing the scenery in the finale when he flips the finger at all and sundry.

Other than Pistol, Quasarman assembled a solid cast, and then frittered it all away.
