Brave are the Fallen originally started out as a short student film at Cal State Fullerton in 2014. Director Jacob Whitley wanted to share the many stories he had heard about his uncle while growing up. In 2019, the film was picked up by Zapruter Productions and completed as a feature length film devoted to telling the story of a brave firefighter.
