Hum

It's very weird, it seems like a post apocalyptic church, that contains a cult, or maybe 2? The cult leader murders the protagonists sister? But the protagonist isn't really bothered by this, but his father is? But the sister isn't really murdered? The cult is real? They go searching for the meaning of the box, and they almost die? It doesn't seem to have a pro/anti church message, just weirdness happening within the periphery which is realistic. Idk, but it seems cool and warrants a 2nd watch.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person to be very confused by this movie. I'm in the process of rewatching it because I want to see if I can decode the message that filmmaker was trying to portray. I feel like there's significance, but I am missing it. This was probably one of those dreams that were difficult to put to paper, and then film. I loved the acting, the settings, etc, I just feel like it went over my head the first watching.
