So, what do we have here? In the 13 minutes of the short "Autopilot", teenage Mark (Dariusz M. Uczkowski) and his friends try to kill their boredom playing with some bicycles, riding them and jumping out of it so that the bike can move by itself until it fells or crash in something. Until here, you can say this: pretty boys does stupid things. At home, Mark's family is "each one in their little lives" with a dad, locked in his son's room watching porn (I guess that was it, we can only hear some moanings), and the mother trying to put things in order and all. Then, a neighbor appears complaining about Mark taking his son bike and crashed into a wall, and something happens and what is going to save Mark and his family from this strange? The same autopilot experiment he does with the bicycles but this time with a car. Bottom of line: sometimes stupid things are helpful when you least expect as long as you know how to use it.
The plot is pretty much that, I only eliminate a few things. Well, it is well filmed and edited, it goes like short films goes, a little bit of story, just a tease on the viewers who'll always wants more. Main actor of this film is very cute, has an expressive face ( his shocked expression when the guy appeared on his house was priceless), the trick with the bikes, that seems pointless but it helped Mark at the conclusion is nice to see, for some odd reason.
I don't know why the poor ratings since this is a nice short film, very well made and with a good direction. It looks like pointless but it is not. It's the simplest work that you can get. 7/10
