For a few decades after WWII, Leck Fischer (1904-1956) was probably the most popular and widely played Danish dramatist in films, TV drama and theater stages. His plays helped to mediate and digest the general emotional aftermath from the horrors of the war. Social conscience and regaining confidence in humanity were main themes in his work, building hope for a better future.
