Bagheera

This is a refreshing & welcome change from the usual redundant crap that the Kannada Cinema has been churning out for years. I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. You don't see vigilante themed movies coming out from the South of India. Especially, with such a dark storyline & characters.

This is a mature rating film so, it's not for the younger audience due to the violence. But, the machismo & testosterone is just OP. The story shines more than the acting in the movie to the point that, it just doesn't matter when some of the actors in the movie, don't meet the expectation. Nevertheless, the movie is good and entertaining.

Bagheera did remind me of Marvel's The Punisher a bit due to the themes of vengence & vigilant justice along with the iconic T-shirt with symbol. That's what I didn't like in the movie. This costumed hero nonsense is a western concept which is tacky, immature & obsolete, which needs to stay in the West. The first part of the movie has none of the costume wearing nonsense. In fact, the black panther decal bandana that the protagonist wears to protect his identity was much more cooler than, the broken mask, printed shirt & gadgets he starts using in the second half. The change in attire just took away the realism in movie and made it look like a copy of a Hollywood movie. Apart from this, the movie was enjoyable to watch.

Would recommend watching this movie.
