Director Marcelo Gomes revealed the sex scenes between João Miguel and Hermila Guedes are unsimulated: "I tried to build the sex scenes with the same naturalism that I built the other scenes, I didn't want to cover anything up", commented the director. "My actors were very comfortable, we did several rehearsals and, when I said 'action!', we were building this joke that later goes to real sex. Without any kind of modesty, because if he were on the scene it would deconstruct the whole thought. I was loyal to my character, if some people might be shocked I can't do anything." Even though the penetration isn't explicitly shown, Hermila Guedes seemed to confirm that she and João Miguel actually had sex on camera: "It's always great to work with João.
