Sometimes whenever we play video games we always remember the characters and notice some of those little things, realizing how much those things contradict some of the physics and principles of our own contemporary reality. Yet at times we can't help but think what would happen if those characters and little things did exist in reality.
This is another web series which is a skit comedy show that both parodies and pays homage to video games mainly from the Nintendo by putting the characters and all the little clichés/technicalities all in our contemporary reality. This I think is an awesome idea for a skit show, it's one of the kinds I've been waiting for since I'm a gamer myself and yes I grew up with the Nintendo system.
Not much I can really say, this was done on a low to modest budget but it was used well. From some of the costumes and digital effects which are solid serve their purpose for what they are if not mind blowing, but what do you expect it's a web series and effects aren't what make the show.
What really powers this show like all skits shows is the comedy. The comedy I thing is really good each of the skits are always something colorful and creative. Their all based on basically what we think about whenever we sometimes play a video game and just go with it. It's true some of the skits are a miss but skit shows are most of the time a hit or miss operation. There are skits that hit and are true to their mark. And on a side note a few familiar faces on the net actually get to guess star like James Rolfe whom you all know as "The Angry Video Game Nerd" and a few others which is cool.
Here's a few of my favorite skits.
Puzzles and Doors: This is just funny just to see how hard, time consuming and really nerve grating it would be to have to constantly solve puzzles just to get from point A to B everyday. Or even doing the simplest task like going to to restroom, may God forbid it would have to be some color combination puzzle.
Side Scrowing Screens: It's just funny and could almost come off as a parody on the TV show "Fringe" since this case would be up their alley. As we see the physics of 2-D side scrolling going against a few unlucky people trapped in the physics conundrum.
Greg Belmonunt: This is a reacquiring segment character whom just cracks me up, he just has this tough attitude but at the same time a bit of a smart ass. The best segments with him are in two skits which seem like a crossover with both "Castlevania" and "Twilight". It just cracks me up and is kinda hilarious as Greg is just expressing constant disdain over the Twilight like Werewolves and Vamps, what complete wusses they are. But it's really funny when he points out certain things that even I noticed when I saw the "Twilight" films (not by choice mind you and on a side note not a fan of the Twilight franchise) like that whole Vampire sparkle thing, it always cracked me up how much disdain Greg exercised about it, that's the same how I felt first time I saw it.
However this show might not be for everyone, if your a fan of video games and Nintendo then this show may appeal to you, if your not a fan of the video game medium then this show probably might not be your thing.
Overall it's a solid skit comedy show, like any video game it's worth a play.
