Once Human is a single player/MMO/Survival/RPG
You can hop in for free, make a nice looking character that appeals to you and jump right in the game.
The tutorial is fairly easy to follow if you read carefully. Once in the game you can follow the quest line, roam around, and unlock regions as you go. But each region might be locked up until the season reaches a certain time active.
There is crafting and building which also is fairly easy to do. And you have the ability to move your house around.
The graphics in the game are nice but since it uses Unreal engine you'll need a beefy system to ramp everything to max.
You can get most everything you need by playing the game. If you want to be top dog you'll need to grind things out or do PVP if you choose.
You can play the game single player or co-op or with a PVP/guild group. You can also play it casually but don't expect to be the best. But you can still have fun running around exploring, repeating areas, and doing events that are in the regions.
The shop is great too. If you want very nice outfits they will cost you but there is enough in there at discount to not feel left out.
The battle pass is worth the money as you get items to use in game, clothing and a free outfit when you unlock the levels.
You can pay for a lower tier battle pass and the full tier which gives extra skins and weapon. I'm keeping things simple for sake of writing as little as possible.
There is also currency in game simply by playing you can use to get items, skins, and outfits.
Overall, the game is fun, accessible for most players to hop in and go, and not feel to poor when trying to get those coveted outfits, items and skins everyone else has.
There are loot boxes but you are not required to buy them to enjoy the game. I imagine it for the game to make money off those who have money to burn and want the status look.
That's fine with me as long as it's not a across the board common thing. It's just optional for those who can afford it.
Lastly, if you don't play every day you might find your house packed up and you'll have to build it again for the sake of people not just taking up space and never playing again. Each server has occupancy limits. Rebuilding isn't too hard though if you save your house as a blueprint.
Once Human does the free to play thing most correct I think while also giving a quality game with nice graphics, interesting characters, and fun game play. Along with crafting, survival, PVP, etc.
8/10 would be my score. Some things about the game annoy me but the pros at least for me squash those negatives. It's great for casuals and hardcore people.
