Mike Quasar takes over Jacky St. James' "Sex Therapist" series for Sweet Sinner and cuts the story content down to the bone. In one segment, for example, there's just one minute of dialogue/acting before he jump-cuts right to the XXX footage in progress. Result is more gonzo than involving romance.
Newcomer Melissa Stratton is quite lovely and empathetic in the title role, playing a newbie therapist working under the tutelage of Derrick Pierce, miscast as he often is, a professional man loaded with ugly tattoos. Add to this his potbelly and one wishes a more dashing leading man had been cast.
The married couple Ryan McLane and ultra-busty starlet Caitlin Bell are their clients (Melissa objects to calling them patients), and the fly in the ointment is that Dr. Pierce is carrying on a clandestine affair with Caitlin. Melissa expresses her concerns over this unethical situation to her boyfriend Codey Steele, but soon their relationship is falling apart, as Melissa and "client" Ryan get the hots for each other.
This soap opera plot line has fairly corny twists, and ultimately there is no screenplay credit listed on the movie, to protect the guilty writer. Added to the cast list is waif Maya Woulfe, unusually vulgar in her dirty talk during a three-way sex scene with Caitlin and Ryan.
The Sweet Sinner label a decade ago would have fleshed out these characters and provided far more romance, but the lengthy sex scenes are well-performed and fans will have to settle for that. Bell impresses by virtue of her huge fake-looking breasts, and her assignments thus far have been generally in gonzo videos.
Movie was shot at the "Immoral Proposal" mansion, with it identifiable (subtly) by distinctive features such as a bathroom where Melissa briefly masturbates, its tiled kitchen, and the iconic spiral staircase visible in the background as we watch sex on the living room couch.
