Commentaire à la une
This is actually a sitcom, NOT a TV movie (which is how IMDb has it designated).
I had the grievous misfortune of having to suffer through the pilot episode of "Holding Patterns" as part of a focus group. The plot was so cliché-ridden, and the characters all so unlikeable, that I actually felt embarrassed for all involved in its making. I noticed that one of the main characters from the pilot, the groom-to-be, is not listed on this IMDb cast page at all, so the show may have been completely reworked. Bear that in mind as you read my review.
Where to begin? There was Erin Hayes' character, whom- I can only assume- the writers were trying to portray as the free-spirited, fun-loving roommate, though she ended up coming across as self-centered, irresponsible, bumbling, and stupid. Then there was her brother, played by Luka Jones, who was apparently only given "act just like Steve Zahn when he's being zany, only without the charm and comic timing" as direction.
In the interest of your time, I won't delve into the rest of the cast. But, suffice to say, the other characters such as the egotistical romance writer, the philandering professor, the desperately clueless Asian wife, and the bridezilla only added to the pain this show induced.
If this show never makes it to air, consider yourselves lucky. If it DOES make it onto someone's schedule, consider yourselves warned.
