Started this drama with low expectations (as the original trailer didn't make much sense) and wow: 12 episodes later I'm left in awe! Outstanding work - Genuinely deserving of more awards.
As the main plot develops so do the side-stories. The drama is a beautiful love story that deals with a lot of heavy subjects with caution and respect. From disability and trauma to family challenges and the messiness of love, everything is loaded with emotions. Details are slowly revealed episode by episode, revealing a complexity of storylines all intertwined together.
The cinematography pays great attention to details and symbolic elements in the scenes which helps greatly in conveying different messages. The original OSTs are beautiful in the own rights and reflect the same depth of emotion. As a viewer, you cannot help but go back to previous episodes (the first few episodes are rather confusing at first), and rewatch sequences as dialogues are layered with different meanings as you learn more about the characters.
There is almost a certain poetry to it. What could have been a cheesy romance with a messy and overly dramatic plot actually turns into a deep representation of the struggles of falling in love and how acts of love (between lovers, family, friends) are manifested differently and through acts of care.
Overall great casting. Whether goofy or dramatic, every character in the story adds to the plot and complements it. All roles feel very fitting. What stands out the most is the performance of the two lead actresses. Their professionalism and chemistry is truly exceptional. They perfectly match the emotions at the point in the plot and portray a subtle desire for each other. Their intimate scenes are also both soft and passionate.
Namtan Tipnaree Weerawatnodom plays the roles of two identical twins seamlessly. She's able to portray incredibly difficult and complex emotions in both while maintaining their two separate identity. Film Rachanun Mahawan is equally powerful in her performance. Her depiction of pain is deeply moving, and the care she puts into portraying a visually-impaired character shows how much effort she - they both - put in their craft.
Kudos to the crew and the cast for setting a new standard for GL productions!
