No pun intended - what once was new ... gets old ... and gets replaced by something new. It is how things work ... or stop working (if you'll excuse another pun). I reckon that teens might not even know what VHS is (or was ... though while it is no produced anymore commercially ... it does exist in some dark corners ... or shops like the one you see in this movie ... and some houses) - which is quite a big part of this movie.
So hats off to the two female leads of the movie. Especially the one who had to learn all the technical stuff and terms. Actually the three leads have quite the nice chemistry ... which is underscored by some good dialog choices. And interesting "Videodrome" inspired effects and story elements ... Cronenberg will likely love this ... now there are some elements that I reckon some will be offended by ... or call woke ... or anti, because of the casting choice ... I won't make up your mind for you ... but I think the movie has its heart in the right place.
