Commentaire à la une
Writer / Director, Fred Shahadi's HR LADY offers a look into the evolution of social norms in the workplace. The film is a female driven eloquent chamber piece which is at its most effective when exploring the fluid middle ground between the intention of an action and the personal feelings of how that action is received. Actor Kim Rhodes carries the emotional, portraying a smart and savvy Human Resources representative asked take action on behalf of a young woman who feels she has been wronged by a male co-worker. While it's easy to experience the film as a generational conflict where old ways of thinking must be set aside in order to create a more positive and equal work environment, the film makers have taken care to also include the rippling effects of Corporate Management stepping in. All points of view expressed are valid... raising the question 'What exactly are we entitled to?' Watching Ms. Rhodes' character wrestle with the many aspects of that central question ultimately leads to an unsettling and ambiguous ending.
