This movie is about thirteen teenagers who attempt to bunk classes and go for a ghost hunt, just to prove their parents that they are not kids any more. The movie covers what conflicts are on their ghost hunt, who they encountered, and the undefinable mystical events.
The initial idea of movie shows promising thought to make a film. As the teens at their age think that they are much better than how their parents think they are. The adamant to revolt against elders' advice and do some adventurous things with friends. The mentality is that they are mature enough to judge what is right and wrong. The infatuation comes at that age. The movie consists of all of these things, but the scenes and narration do not help me to connect with them. I can't feel nostalgic due to their privileged mindset and behavior.
The writing was mediocre, as the things are happening repetitively and not progressing as much. Even the characters were all one-dimensional, and there was no space for character arc in the story. The movie goes down in interest until the astrophysicist character shows up. It thought the movie would get better from there, but again, the movie let down me without creating any interest to wacth it further. This movie was promoted as a horror film to pull an audience and to give a surprise by presenting a sci-fi film. The shift from horror genre to sci-fi was already spoiled for me, and the transition was handled well too. The astrophysicist explains the science in this movie mostly like a YouTuber, mainly in the climax, which is the only scene where science is discussed.
Radhakrishnan Parthiban is a good film director who is doing experimental films recently, and I liked his film Oththa Seruppu Size 7 with only one actor in screen, and his single-shot non-linear film Iravin Nizhal was an above-average movie for me. But his sci-fi attempt on this film is not admirable and not a fulfilling experience. The acting was decent, as you can expect from teens. The cinematography and composition were decent. The music was good at some point. The songs were underwhelming except one Love song.
In conclusion, this movie fails to fascinate me like E. T., where teens encounter aliens. I regret watching this movie. I wouldn't recommend watching this movie at all.
