Slow start but now on Ep 10 and...
I like it. Love the Aussie sister and her complete lack of humility and ability to just go with the flow. The tension between the 2 sisters has lessened a lot by ep 10. And although they have solved a number of murders, they have not yet solved the one mystery that brought them together. The scenery is beautiful in Greece and Cyprus and in what I assume is Australia. Hoping that UPTV in the US will carry more episodes.
Super silly
The Greek lady can't act. I pressed play and the episode started and I hear this loud terrible English accent voice and I'm thinking "did I get the Greek news somehow?" Nope. A person that can't act is somehow in a foreign program. Out of all the unemployed Greek actors, how did they pick that woman? I'm so sorry for everyone that had to watch that.
A sharp, witty, stylish, fun crime drama with a killer cast
The Sunshine Murders is one of those rare TV gems that manages to balance dark comedy, razor-sharp writing, and deeply human characters in a way that feels both original and addictive. The script is witty and layered - full of unexpected twists, clever dialogue, and emotional depth. It's the kind of writing that warms your heart whilst keeping you intrigued; every scene has its own charm.
Emily Corcoran absolutely shines as "The Kiwi." Her performance is magnetic - a mix of grit, charm, honesty and sly humour that grounds the series. She gives the role a natural authenticity and edge, perfectly embodying the outsider navigating a morally murky world. You can't take your eyes off her. She is fun, unashamedly inquisitive whilst also caring and kind, both attributes which perfectly sum up the New Zealand girl "Shirley".
The supporting cast is equally impressive. Seeing Star Trek's Marina Sirtis and Dynasty's Stephanie Beacham share the screen is a real treat; both bring gravitas and wit to their roles, elevating every scene they're in. And Peter Andre - who knew he was such a great actor? He brings real heart and charisma to his part, proving he's far more than just a pop icon. His performance adds a surprising warmth and depth to the show.
The production itself feels slick and cinematic, with a strong sense of place and tone. The Sunshine Murders manages to capture that perfect blend of British noir and Antipodean bite - part crime thriller, part character study, all thoroughly entertaining.
In short: brilliant writing, standout performances, and a fresh, unpredictable tone. Here's hoping there's a second season - this show deserves one.

Original - A change from the over-used dead spouse scenario
This light-hearted, original scenario makes a change from the weary widowed cop over-done in so many other shows. The arc storylines of the main family's three generations add enough variety around the episodic mystery. There's intrigue, humour, new friendships, a hint of romance and a few familiar faces, which always adds to the fun. The music is good, not too repetitive nor drowns out the dialogue.
Amusing!!!
"I watched Sunshine Murders on a weekday afternoon, and it was such a delight. The sunny weather and beautiful scenery matched the show's light-hearted tone perfectly.
The actors were wonderfully quirky and making each episode feel fun and refreshing. The gentle humour, colourful setting, and relaxed pace makes it ideal for a cosy afternoon when you just want to unwind. A lovely mix of sunshine, scenery, and smiles" 😊🌞😎
