It's fun. Great characters. Great cast. Nice story. A great adventurous quest but so damn violent it's disgusting and unwatchable. They could have lowered the violence and have an amazing series. Remove it completely and you have a great family story. It really is a pity because they got something here.

A super dull, troubled girl - whose reasons for refusing to leave her house remain a mystery at least up to episode four - lives with her mother and, despite being unemployed, somehow has enough money to redecorate her storage room and backyard every week to match the movie she screens for her friends. Among them is another equally troubled character she's in love with, completing a circle of utterly dull, lifeless people.

Despite an initially promising concept - a small "film club" as a kind of emotional refuge - Film Club quickly collapses under its own monotony. The pacing is glacial, the dialogues feel improvised and hollow, and the characters are so empty you almost expect them to fade out of existence. It's barely watchable past episode one and a half, only out of sheer curiosity to see something finally happen - but it never does.

A real shame, because there's talent here and a solid idea at its core. Unfortunately, both are wasted in a story with no spark, no heart, and no reason to exist.
