"Murder in Swingtime" is really, really weird but likable. Back in the day, this sort of film was like the music video of the day. And, in this case, it stars an all-black cast. Whether it was shown in all theaters or just black theaters, I have no idea.
While a woman is singing, one of the band members seems very disinterested in her to say the least. After accidentally bonking his head, he has a weird hallucination. In this sequence, there is a weird jazzy courtroom where everyone talks in rhyme. And, the witnesses testifying all play musical instruments in answer to questions from the prosecutor! It makes no sense at all and is a bit dumb...but also rather likable. An odd little curio.
