Second Spring

Caught this British film on Film Four. I really enjoyed its strange, kind of unique tone and the pace was unhurried but absorbing. All the characters felt very real and I was quite taken by the main character of Kathy - and the eerie english countryside. The illness which the lead has is a rare condition known as Front Temporal Dementia - it's a tough diagnosis (which recently has hit Bruce Willis which is what drew me to watch it). The means of story telling seems a little experimental albeit in a subtle way. Tragic subject matter but this film examines the character's predicament in a very engrossing way. On the surface I can see it not being to everyone's taste but if you go along with it, its well worth it. The experience lingered with me after viewing.
