British character actor of stage and screen, trained at RADA. Best remembered on screen as one of the getaway drivers (the one leaving the bus teetering on the edge of the abyss at the end of the film!) of the gang led by Michael Caine in The Italian Job (1969). Otherwise, frequently cast as working-class Londoners. Was vice president of the Abbots Langley Gilbert & Sullivan Society.
